Formaldehyde Free

Alowood is made using an organic hardening process. All the materials are farm grown; no toxins or formaldehyde are used in its production.

GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality

Chemicals and particles emitted in the air indoors can negatively affect human health; while clean air can contribute to a happy and healthy life. Alowood is the only hard wood product certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI); confirming Alowood’s compliance with GEI’s stringent indoor air quality guidelines.

Fire Resistance (Density)
The fire resistance of any wood species is directly proportional to its density. A "soft" wood catches fire more quickly, while the opposite is true for a hard and dense wood. Alowood‘s increased hardness and density enhances its fire resistance.

Sustainable Resource

Alowood is a sustainable resource; it is harvested from fast growing plantation lumber crops which reach maturity in 15-20 years, verses over 100 years for many hardwood species.

Alowood products are available as fully certified sustainable materials by the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council).

Organic Hardening Process

Alowood is made using an organic hardening process. All the materials are farm grown; no toxins or formaldehyde are used in its production. Sawdust and disposed material would be good to handle as natural wood products.

LEED [Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design]

The LEED Green Building Rating System provides a set of standards for environmentally sustainable construction. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.
